Autumn Equinox Healing: How Heartbreak Can Lead You Back to Yourself

Tomorrow marks the Autumn Equinox, a sacred pause when light and darkness come into balance.

And isn’t that so much of what healing asks of us?

Not to pretend the heartbreak didn’t happen, to force ourselves to “stay positive” or even wait until everything feels perfect before we begin living again.

But to learn how to hold both.

The grief and the beauty.
The ending and the invitation.
The part of us that aches….and the deeper part that somehow knows we are going to be okay.

Years ago, my almost-fiancé broke up with me three days before we were supposed to leave for Hawaii.

Three. Days.

I could have canceled the trip. I could have stayed home, hidden under the covers, and decided that paradise was officially ruined.

Instead, I went to Hawaii alone.

That trip became one of the most powerful chapters in my journey back to myself. Being alone after heartbreak showed me what self-love actually looks like: a choice we make when life doesn’t unfold the way we thought it would.

Getting vulnerable…on TV

I recently had the opportunity to share this story in the streaming TV series Navigating the Clickety-Clack, now available on Fawesome and other streaming platforms along with other prominent teachers like Dr. John Demartini, Joe Vitale, and Marie Diamond (Featured teachers from The Secret movie and NY Times Bestsellers)

In the first part of my segment, I share what happened when I chose to take that trip alone—and the unexpected insights that came from finding myself in paradise with a broken heart.

In the second part, I offer practical tools you can use to soothe your heart, return to emotional balance, and reconnect with the wisdom already living inside you.

It feels especially meaningful to share these conversations at the Autumn Equinox, because balance doesn’t mean we never feel sadness, anger, disappointment, or uncertainty.

It means we learn how to come home to ourselves in the middle of it all.

You can watch both parts of my segment here:

As we enter this new season, perhaps you can ask yourself:

Where am I being invited to stop waiting for someone (or something) outside of me to make my life beautiful?

Because sometimes the ending we never would have chosen becomes the doorway back to the relationship we needed most:

The one with ourselves.

With love,

Diana
