What to Do When Your Intuition is WRONG

Does your intuition seem to be working on overdrive?

Is it really your intuition? Or is it something else?

I hear things like:

In Love:

“Diana, I had a dream about my ex and getting married. It’s definitely a sign from my intuition that I should call him and re-connect, right?” (usually said in a giddy voice)

My response?

Will calling him move you closer where you want to be or further away?  And truly, (again just my opinion), sometimes our subconscious just needs to work something out. It doesn’t always mean we need to leap to conclusions or take the dreams literally. If you ask your intuition and sit quietly with the possibility of contacting them, you’ll get a definite answer to the first question I posed by how you FEEL before you act rashly and regret it later by eating lots of chocolate and pizza. (I’ve done that and it doesn’t feel very good!)

In Business:

“Diana, my intention is to have ten people in my new program. But you know, I have a lot going on, so I’m just fine with whatever happens. I trust Spirit and all is well!”

My response?

You’re giving the Universe mixed signals. You say you want ten people. So it’s your job to manifest/attract ten people, co-creating WITH Spirit. Talk to people. Go outside. Go online. Ask friends to help you. Whatever it takes.  Stay open, follow your intuition, yes! Of course. Your intuition will guide you to WHERE to go, WHO to talk to and WHEN to go for it vs. when you just need to sit still and hold space for your vision. But when you release the energy around what you say you want (ten people) and just settle for mediocrity (whatever happens) because you’re scared of putting yourself out there, that’s just plain crazy-making! And your results will be a reflection of your internal disconnect. I know…there’s just no short-cut for making sure your words and your intentions align with your actions. It’s usually pretty uncomfortable but if you want different results you have to get out of your comfort zone on an on-going basis.

In Living Your Life Purpose

“Diana, my intuition keeps saying that I have to get this book out into the world. But, first I need more information about publishers and need to organize my schedule so I can have time to write.”

My response? Great. Your intuition is aligning with your heart’s true  desire to get a book out into the world. So, why are you waiting for a publisher or “more information” or “more time” to give you permission to get your butt to your computer and just start writing a book proposal? Is the information about publishing a book important? Yes. But if you’re using it as a delay-tactic to avoid actually sitting down and doing the writing, then you’ll be waiting a very very very long time. Start NOW. And put in specific times to research during your week.

First off, I have so much compassion for these statements and versions of them because I used to make them too! All the time! But now, these kinds of statements make me want to scream and bang on pots and pans. The voice behind each of those statements is NOT your intuition.I get the whole idea of having Spirit/Higher Self/the Angels/your intuition sending you messages to nudge you forward on your Path. But there’s a difference between listening to your Intuition and totally giving your power away to avoid having to tune into yourself and take grounded, concrete action.

What’s really behind these types of statements is one of the following:

#1 Fear (usually of failure and what other people think)

#2 Wishful Thinking (to avoid dealing with the present or the fact that your past really is done and over) or

#3 Laziness (to avoid having to take action, feel uncomfortable or shift from a routine that is safe)

The Good News: 3 Easy Steps

Once you come clean with yourself about which one of the 3 feelings you’re letting run your show (your life), you can choose something different!

Step 1: Name it without Judgement (Fear, Wishful Thinking or Laziness?) Or a combo?

Ex: “I am afraid right now because…or “I acknowledge that I wish …..or I really don’t feel like doing ….”

Step 2:  Restate your True Intention

What would you LOVE to co-create for yourself in this situation? Say it aloud and write it down.

Step 3:  Listen

What’s one step that can get you closer to where you want to be? Write that step down. Yes, I said just ONE. Then go do it!

That’s all you have to do.

And once you’re in alignment, you’ll be able to hear your TRUE intuition. The voice that gives you those great ideas at 3am. The voice that tells you to call so and so because they might be able to help you. The voice that says, Go do something else for a little bit and come back to this. It’s always there.

Will you listen?

3 Steps to activate your masculine and feminine energy to get what you want

This past weekend I was reminded of the power of masculine and feminine energy and how both are so essential to us creating what we really want: inner peace and love.

  • Have you been go-go-go, driving yourself MAD trying to do it all alone, wondering why you seem to be manifesting slowly or not at all and getting exhausted in the process? This is the negative aspect of the masculine. The positive one is Taking Action and being clear and responsible for that action.
  • Have you been so passive and stuck in your head or emotions that you feel paralyzed to take action for fear that it won’t work out or that you will be judged?

This is the negative aspect of the feminine. The positive one is Tuning in and opening up your receptivity, connecting to your inner Wisdom before you act. If you are too much in one energy, life feels really really hard. But when you can tune into yourself (your feminine), then the actions become simple. (your masculine). They work together in harmony and you feel calm inside, even when what you’re dealing with is really challenging. I got reminded of both energies at the Fair I attended this Sunday. Let me give you some examples. I invite you to consider how you could apply this to YOUR life and streamline your decision-making process.

#1: Know what you’re asking for

I sat in Meditation and felt myself connecting to so many people. (Feminine) I took the time to feel the energy of love coming out of my heart chakra to theirs and receiving love back if they were sending it to me. It made me giddy and excited and I felt lots of warm energy and Angels around. From this place, I also got clear that I wanted to leave the Fair with a profit, at least double vs. just making ‘enough’ to cover the expense of my booth. I would attract in people who were ready for the work and who were willing to invest in themselves/saw the value of the services I was offering. (The Masculine). I would stay open to who I was meant to serve and trusted that they would come (Feminine) and would remember to also clearly state my prices and hand them a flier about my work and events (Masculine). With that, we packed up and went to the Fair.

#2:  Trust Your Feminine, Then Activate Your Masculine

I was at the Fair for many hours and there were inevitable slow periods so my mom and I would take turns being at the booth. (And you guys know I go a little stir crazy if I am asked to sit for too long) so I decided I’d walk around to see the other vendors, treat myself to a reading or a gift, explore, go get more water, walk out for a moment to feel the sun, etc. Well, whenever I’d come back, my mom (with a big smile on her face that said, “I’m trying to figure out how to say this nicely.”) said, “Diana, every time you walk away and go explore, the people come and want a reading from you but you aren’t here. One older woman came back TWICE. I wasn’t sure what to tell her.”

Ok. Pause.

A few years ago, I would have chained myself to that booth chair for fear that I would “not be available or miss out somehow.” I would have sacrificed my well being and done readings even when I had no water, had to pee or my stomach was growling because I had skipped lunch to help people.  I went back to my original intention around trusting that the people I was meant to serve would be there and I would also be pro-active in sharing what I could help them with if I felt that nudge within.

#3: Receive Divine Confirmation + Stop Questioning It (and yourself)

Ironically, this older woman came back (and my mom was the one wandering now.)

She was distraught, a little scattered but very happy to see me. She didn’t say anything except to ask timidly, “…Are YOU..….?????”  I just smiled and replied, “Yes I am. Nice to meet you!” She mentioned that she had been waiting for me. But then something unexpected came out of my mouth. Before I had her sit down, I (well, really the Angels/Spirit) started chatting about how I had just treated myself to a reading with this woman on the other side of the room from me and how fabulous she was. She even shared the same birthday as me. I just kept babbling on and on. The older woman’s eyes got wide and she said, “Oh, does she charge money?” I said, “I think it’s by donation but not required. And she said, “Well, I have to go see her then! I don’t have any money!” And off she went.

Now, I now some of you may be sitting there thinking, “Diana, that was SO silly! You just turned away business!” But my intuition knew better. There was a reason why that came out of my mouth. I was not meant to serve her and she could be better served with this other reader. And it was no accident that each time she came by, I was unexpectedly “out of the office.” Not surprisingly, after I had my luxurious lunch, had received a mini reading for myself and replenished my water bottle, I attracted LOTS of people, some of who did get a reading and others who I am considering partnering with to help other men and women!  The best part? They got ALL of me. Not the overgiving Diana who was exhausted. The full, sparkly Goddess version of me, which is where I do my best work and have the most fun!

It All Comes Back to YOU:

I also remembered my intention: I choose to only attract people who see the value of the work and who are ready to invest in themselves.  I am happy to share that I also got a profit vs. ‘just the minimum” I invested for a table. And so really, I got exactly what I asked for.  And I truly believe that the reason why was that I didn’t let my mind, any fears or other people’s opinions or beliefs override my own inner wisdom.

I believe YOU can have what you really want and are willing to commit 100% to also. It takes trust, practice, faith, yes. But if you can stay in the middle, which is knowing where you need to activate (turn up your masculine) and where you need to simply hold space and let it BE (turn up your feminine), life can be pretty sweet!

Which of the 3 Types of Meditator are you?

QUIZ:

Which type of MEDITATOR are you?

1,2 or 3? Find out!

Can you guess which type I am?

Directions:

Assess yourself below first and be sure to scroll down to the bottom for a FUN and EASY system to help you feel calm and sane throughout your day with me supporting you (in less than 10 minutes a day).

NOTE: You may be a combination of 2 or all 3. There is usually one that dominates though.

1)   The Mover and Shaker

  • Sitting still is a challenge for you. You get restless.
  • You tend to process and get your best ideas when you are in motion vs. contemplating in a resting position
  • You tend to make decisions quickly and multi-task naturally.

Your Meditation Mojo: Your Soul prioritizes physical movement (dance, walking, exercise of any kind) to tap into your creative power. Commit to moving your body on a schedule everyday before beginning any work or making any major decision.

2)   The Radio Rockstar

  • You remember what people say first (and how they say it) vs. what their name is or even what they look like
  • You tend to get songs stuck in your head for days and music is a very important part of your life
  • You tend to process  and get your best ideas through songs/music or being out in nature, listening to the sounds there.

  • Your Meditation Mojo: Your Soul prioritizes calm environments, stillness and sounds that blend nature and voice. Commit to listening to uplifting music and guided meditations (watch what you put on your ipod as you are easily influenced by the tone of the music you hear) and keeping a journal for your ideas to flow as you tune into your clair audience (clear-hearing). Avoid harsh sounds.

3)   The Day Dreamer

  • You think spherically rather than linearly. You often have 3 topics of conversation going on in your mind at once and you are comfortable with that!
  • You tend to process in pictures and images. You remember what people look like before you remember anything else.
  • You get your best ideas when you can “see” it, either literally on paper or in your imagination before executing a plan. List-making, rules and too much structure frustrate you.
  • Your Meditation Mojo: Your Soul prioritizes imagination, freedom and flexibility within a structure YOU create above all. Commit to carving out a specific block of time to create, imagine and day dream in an environment that you create! Background noise? Painting? Laying in some grass and staring at clouds? Again, YOU decide. Is it 3X/week? 1 hour/day? Create your OWN structure and your mind will relax during that time (meditation) so you can pull out your best ideas.
