It’s Time for a Spring Clean!

Happy Tuesday and Spring!

Have you been cleaning stuff out early like me?

Sometimes I feel like I’m in a constant state of decluttering.

It’s so freeing to organize, let stuff go and clean!

Spring time is the perfect season to re-evaluate what you want to give life to and also notice what renews your energy and what depletes it.

When it comes to love and relationships, so often we stay too long in connections that we’ve outgrown or that deplete us.

You may stay because you are afraid of hurting the other person or feel afraid of the changes required of you if you move on, without any guarantees of what will be waiting for you on the other side.

Or you may worry about what someone or the mysterious “they” will think.

But Spring invites you to take stock of our most important relationships and to get super clear on your values. So that you put your energy into things that feel aligned with your most authentic self.

Some examples of values are: Beauty, Power, Health, Family, Leaving a Legacy, Freedom, Passion, Creativity, among others.

Are you game for a bit of spring cleaning?

This week, let’s do a Spring Clarity List!

  1. I encourage you to take out a sheet of paper. Draw a line down the middle.
  2. On the left, write down your top 3-5 values. The things you want to measure everything against for the next 30 days. What is most important to you right now?
  3. On the right, write down at least 5 people you are in relationship with. This could be from any area of your life. Your intuition will share the first names that come. Trust that.
  4. Then ask yourself, “Does this relationship with this person align with my values? If so, which one(s)?” If they don’t, then ask yourself what you are getting out of the connection. And what fears come up around making changes or exiting it. For the ones that do, celebrate those connections and commit to spending more time and energy with them over the next 30 days!

That’s it!

Q: What came up for you as you did this exercise? What is one of your top values?

Hit reply and share if you feel guided and happy Spring!

ps: Would you like a spiritual mentor to go to the next level of trusting your intuition, and attract healthy, lasting relationships? Let’s talk!

Have Trouble with Follow Through? I’ve Got You!

Happy Tuesday!

Today’s questions is about follow through!

Q: “How do I overcome a lack of follow through with accomplishing my goals? I’ll start out great-and hen get stuck, spinning my wheels in the beginning stages of implementation. I want to get out of my own way! What can I do?”

Watch below or prefer to read? Scroll down!

A: Often times when we experience a lack of follow through, there are a few things that could be going on.

1) Your ‘why’ isn’t compelling enough.

The truth is, anytime we attempt to move towards something we have never done or had before, in the beginning it will feel foreign, hard or weird, even if deep down, we know we want it. But if your reason for it isn’t compelling enough, staying stuck is actually safer than pushing through a challenge, obstacle like ‘not enough time, etc.’ without that strong “why,” it’s hard to keep going when things become less than ideal which they never really are.

2)  The goal (or the plan to implement) is too big.

Breaking things down into manageable steps that your brain and body can handle is essential. Ex: I’m going to clean out the garage today becomes…I’m going to remove anything from the bottom shelf in the garage that needs to go. Get support from a friend or a coach if it’s a huge dream or goal. Chucking gives you space to have small wins, which is important when doing anything new to keep momentum up!

3) Let go of perfection.

Doing something new means it’s not going to be perfect. Take imperfect action and give yourself permission to f–ck it up. If you are doing it with a pure heart and good intent, then even if you make a mistake, trust that the Universe will send you the info you need to correct it, revise or move through it. Stop letting yourself get held back by the need to prove something, do it perfectly or avoid judgement. You’ve got this!

Q: Have you ever struggle with follow through? What helped you to move through it? Share with us!

How to Gracefully Decline a Holiday Invitation (3 Tips)

2020 has been anything but predictable and the holiday season is no different.

With COVID-19, and a bunch of other energetic factors, you’d think it would be super easy to bow out of *optional-but-let’s-be-honest-required* family functions you’d rather avoid. And while that’s the case for some, it’s still helpful to have some things in your back pocket if you’re just not feeling it.

You can use these tips for things outside the holidays too.

So…you don’t want to accept something…you may feel guilty.

Torn.

But…in your heart of hearts, the idea of skipping out makes your heart skip a beat.

What. To. Do…here are 3 tips for you:

  1. Blame it on Coronavirus. Yea- I’m not breaking new ground here with this one, but I would be remiss to leave it off the list!
  2. Manage Expectations: The sooner you know you aren’t planning on going, set the expectation that you cannot go, but that if anything should change, they will be the first to know. Most people do the reverse and tease that they ‘might’ go when really they have zero intention of making an appearance. Don’t be that person.
  3. Cite Personal Growth: This one is my favorite and of course, it works best like all of these when it’s true! You are deciding to bow out not due to anything on their end at all, but more because you’ve overcommitted. Example, “In my effects to take better care of myself, I realize that I have taken on too many things and need to bow out. I really appreciate the invitation though and thank you for thinking of me!”

That’s it. Short and sweet this week.

Q: Which one are you going play with the next time you’re invited to something you don’t want to go to?

How bad do you want it?

Happy Wednesday!

How do you know if something (or someone) is worth going for?

Maybe it’s the decision to go on a second date with someone.

Or to take the leap of faith and finally get engaged… or break up… or tell someone how you really feel.

If you’re in my world, chances are high the you tend to do things differently than most people.

You’re intuitive and sometimes those intuitive nudges don’t always make sense.

It can feel scary-will they judge me if I do this? Don’t do this? What will people say?

Who am I?

All this, right?

I was listening to the fabulous Seth Godin on a podcast the other day and he posed a question that made me think twice.

I’d love to pose that same question to you today, especially if you are wrestling with whether or no to go for something.
