Have you ever just been doing an everyday thing and gotten a lightbulb ah-ha?
Today I felt like making a fancy egg scramble and in typical Diana style, I chopped up the sausage, grabbed the eggs, and oiled up the pan. I cranked up the stove to a “6” which is just hotter than ‘medium,’ and I dumped everything in and started mindlessly stirring.
Well, being the sometimes impatient Goddess I can be, I wondered why the eggs weren’t cooking. So I cranked it up to an “8.” Still…my stove needs a few minutes to warm up, and here I was, beating the poor thing to death, and feeling super frustrated with myself in the process.
It dawned on me that this tendency to take massive action…before the metaphorical (and in my case, literal) pan is primed, hot, and ready, is very common in relationships and life.
If you’re used to making things happen in your career or life…
It can feel unnatural to wait in dating.
You’re decisive. You don’t like wasting time. You’re emotionally aware.
So when you feel a spark with someone or something, your instinct might be to do something with it.
Maybe you initiate the text.
Ask where things are going.
Try to move the connection forward before it’s really grounded.
Why We Do This
So often, taking action too soon comes from fear.
Fear a person or opportunity will disappear if you don’t clarify or confirm a billion times.
Fear that waiting means you’re helpless.
Fear of “missing out on something.”
But, if it’s really the right connection or opportunity, you never need to force a thing. And your receptivity is part of your power.
Do this instead: Take A Sacred Goddess Pause
So before you send that third or fourth check-in text…
Before you over-explain what you meant or where you stand…
Before you try to “get clarity” from your head and anxiety before it’s naturally shown or felt…
Consider taking what I call a Sacred Goddess Pause.
What that means:
Come back to your body. Breathe fully from your belly-even if you aren’t sure you’re doing it right or you feel weird!
Ask your inner Goddess: Is this action I’m about to take grounded in trust or driven by anxiety, fear, or a false sense of urgency?
The more you bring awareness to where it’s coming from, the easier it is to calm that scared part of you that feels like she has to do something all the time when it may not be needed or the best use of your energy.
And when in doubt, remember to count to 10 and wait until the stove’s actually ready and hot, before you toss in the eggs!
Ready for more? Let me take you on an energetic experience to open your heart and release all that over-functioning, so you can soften and naturally attract what you desire without force.
Your Magnetic Heart Meditation is here! (And there is no-cost to receive it). Count me in, Diana!
