It’s understandable to have questions come up when you decide to begin dating again after a long spell of not dating.

What are the ‘rules?’ How does it all work?

Today’s question comes from a Goddess asking about dating in the early stages.

Q: What constitutes the early dating stage with someone? Is it the 3rd or even 4th date?

This is a fantastic question, and I always like to share insights that come up intuitively underneath the direct question.

A: Thank you for asking this! Generally speaking, the first 3-4 dates are still early days. You’ve made it past the initial first two where things can feel a bit awkward or presentational! However, depending on the connection, communication and timing between dates, you are still getting to know this person and it’s important to focus on how you feel in their presence and after you leave their presence.

So often, I see clients putting all their energy into a person in the first few dates before exclusivity and commitment has been established on both ends! This can lead to rushed intimacy, heart-ache, and miscommunications, so my advice if you do find yourself getting attached in the early days, is to consider rotational dating.

Get to know not just one, but several people in these early stages. Use the early stages to move mindfully, set your standards, and notice the energy that comes back from the men you are dating. As women, we tend to set the emotional barometer and speed, so taking the pressure off having your focus on just one man in the beginning stages can be helpful in staying at a pace that feels right for you. Good luck and remember to have fun!

Q: What advice has helped you in those early dating stages? Share your wisdom with the community by leaving a comment blow.
